TOPIC: THE BELT OF TRUTH
TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:14
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, (NIV)
BODY
"The belt of truth" as a phrase in our scriptural text is one of the armour of God, to defeat the schemes of the devil in our generation. We are living in a generation where real truth is missing, even among Christians. Truth must be seen in us as believers. We must walk, sleep and wake up in truth. This is because we are led by the Spirit of truth who teach us into all kinds of truth. Apostle Paul encourages us that in other to win over the devil's schemes we must stand firm then, with the belt of truth. Physically, We often put on belt to tighten our dress so that we don't have a loosened dress.
Spiritually, we put on the belt of truth so we don't expose our ignorance to the devil and lose our place in the kingdom of God. In order to stand against the deceptive devices of Satan, the Holy Spirit through Paul the Apostle explains here what must be done - To tighten (buckle) our waist with the belt of truth. Believers like you and me should first put the truth of God in their hearts by believing and living in truth. We must do such in order that, we will be transformed into the strong character of Jesus, as well as be able to identify and stand against all that is error and morally wrong. Remember always that you will fasten your waist with the belt of truth. Amen!
PRAYER POINT
Father I thank you for your word today, help me to be truthful to you always, even with my neighbors as well. Amen!
