Abetifi College Students demonstrate against principal

Students of Abetifi College of Education in the Eastern region have taken to the streets to register their dissatisfaction with certain actions of the principal of the college.
The students have accused Rev. D.K Bosea-Gyinantwi of financial misappropriation and have alleged that he has refused to release feeding grants they paid back to them.
They explained that they were forced by the college's administration to pay feeding fee because the school lacked funds to feed them.
'The principal refused to feed students who could not afford the feeding fee and now that government has released our feeding grants to cover what we paid for, he has refused to give our monies back,' an aggrieved student said.
The students claim that they were asked to invite their parents when they demanded a refund of their feeding grants from the school authorities.
"We paid the monies ourselves so why should he demand to see our parents before they release the funds, we want our monies back now,' a student told Joy News' Kofi Siaw.
Apart from the feeding grants,  Rev. Bosea-Gyinantwi is also accused of refusing to release monies meant for the SRC week celebrations of the students.
On that, one student indicated that 'he did not allow us to celebrate the SRC week although funds for the celebrations were deducted from our school fees.'
They called on government and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, regulators of the college to investigate the allegations they have levelled against the principal.
