THE RACE OF LIFE
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 1 Corinthians 9:24
Our lives here on earth is described as a race. Every race needs preparation. Every race has a beginning and an end. Every race has a prize. This race is not a competition between you and others. In the race of life every person has his own race. You can't run someone else's race. You have to find your own race and run it. If you compete according to the rules and finish your race, you will receive the prize.
The key to living a happy and significant life starts with discovering the purpose of God for your life. God has a unique and individual plan for your life. He wants you to be a champion for Him in the field He has assigned you to. Isn't it amazing the number of champions we have in the world? We have boxing champions, soccer champions, science champions, music champions, spelling champions, marketing champions, brick-laying champions, driving champions and on and on. Life does not produce only one champion. There are many of them and there is room for you!
The way to becoming a champion for God is to discover His plan and follow it wherever it may lead. But because you are human, it's easy for you to get distracted and spend your life trying too hard to please everyone else except God. Just make it your desire to follow and please Him, and daily ask Him to lead and guide you to fulfil His purpose for your life.
Have you started your race or you have all this time been running someone else's race? Every morning is an opportunity for us to run our race. What are you doing today to advance in the race of life?
Prayer: Lord, please give me strength to run the race of life with diligence.
Scriptural Reading: 1 Corinthians 9:24
